Rebecca O’Connor, Vice President

Becca O’Connor serves as the vice president of public policy at RAINN, where she leads efforts at the federal and state level to improve the criminal justice system, prevent sexual assault, and ensure justice for survivors.

portrait of Rebecca O'Connor, vice president of public policy at RAINNO’Connor has more than a decade of experience as an attorney working in the public policy realm and advocating for improvements in the criminal justice system and victims’ rights. She leads policy efforts to secure funding for sexual violence programming, eliminate the large volume of untested and unanalyzed forensic evidence from sexual assault cases, known as the rape kit backlog, address campus sexual violence, and protect children against sexual violence.

Prior to joining RAINN, O’Connor worked in Massachusetts state government, as counsel to the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, and as legislative liaison for the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance. She has also held leadership positions with the District of Columbia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Parkinson’s Action Network, and the American Association for Justice.

O’Connor graduated from Randolph Macon Woman’s College with a degree in Sociology/Anthropology and Vermont Law School. She is a member of the Massachusetts and DC bars.
