Project Model Tee: A Fashionable Night for Charity

Models pose while wearing Project Model Tshirts

Project Model Tee hosted its “Friendship Event” for RAINN, gathering New York City’s fashion models at the breathtaking Hudson Terrace, a rooftop lounge overlooking the Hudson River, to empower voices and instill hope.

Edythe Hughes of Ford Models, the founder of Project Model Tee (PMT), organized the evening and delivered an inspiring speech about PMT’s mission to provide a platform for fashion models to showcase their art while benefiting a charitable cause. RAINN Speakers Bureau member Kristen Bakalar delivered a powerful message of strength and recovery.

“RAINN would like to send a huge thanks to Edythe Hughes and the board members of Project Model Tee for producing such an incredible event, said Chelsea Bowers, RAINN’s development director. “We also appreciate premier DJs Sammy Needlz and Statik Selektah for providing musical entertainment and Hudson Terrace for generously donating the event space and the first hour of drinks for guests. Finally, a big thanks to all the models and artists who donated beautiful pieces of art for the silent auction,” said Bowers.

The rape kit backlog is currently one of the biggest obstacles to prosecuting perpetrators of sexual violence.
