RAINN Congratulates Voices and Faces Project

The latest issue of the Chicago Tribune's RedEye (5/30/06) names RAINN Advisory Board member Anne Ream as one of "Chicago's Top 40," highlighting individuals who are making a difference in Chicago. Anne is listed as one of Chicago's leaders and as someone who has turned a personal tragedy of rape into hope. After her rape 15 years ago, Anne was determined to make a difference and to raise awareness about sexual assault. The Voices and Faces Project is working on a book which gives survivors a voice with which to tell their personal experience with rape and a face to show that there is nothing to be ashamed of. Anne is a survivor who truly demonstrates that the effects of sexual assault can be overcome.

The article cites the forthcoming Voices and Faces book and the organization as a non-profit that "puts a face on women and men who have been sexually assaulted."

RAINN would like to commend Anne Ream and our friends at The Voices and Faces Project for their important contributions to the movement. For more information about the organization, visit their website at voicesandfaces.org.
