Training Internship (Remote)

Position: Training Intern

Reporting to: Training Director

As a member of RAINN’s Victim Services team, the Training Intern will support the development, facilitation, and management of live blended online training and recorded online training for National Sexual Assault Hotline (NSAH) and Safe Helpline (SHL) staff and volunteers. This position will assist in writing and revising training materials and supporting staff and volunteers through RAINN’s Learning Management System (LMS).

The Training Intern will be joining a highly collaborative and supportive team that values accessibility, and high quality work product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create training materials, including instructions and worksheets, to support training objectives for online learning.
  • Assist in ensuring trainings are accessible to people with disabilities and supports cultural diversity to include race, gender, ethnicity, nation and nationhood, class, and religion and their intersections.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support for live and self paced blended online training for staff and volunteer workforce and external clients.
  • Assist in monitoring and supporting staff and volunteer progress through the LMS.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures for RAINN’s LMS and live learning platforms.
  • Compile and maintain up-to-date library of research-based best practices in crisis intervention and sexual violence prevention and response.
  • Additional opportunities based on interest, skill, and team needs. This can include opportunities in facilitation of online learning, developing training curriculum, and providing technical support in the development of recorded and live training products.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills with remote staff, volunteers , and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working well within a team to deliver work products on time.
  • Excellent research skills and ability to translate best practices to plain language.
  • Ability to interpret written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems and work professionally in a wide range of situations.
  • Exercises good judgment when faced with complex decisions.
  • Resiliently positive and energetic attitude, with the ability to successfully work on a team and independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable; responsive to new information and adjusts plans and deliverables as needed.
  • Provide “all-hands-on-deck” support to training team as needed.
  • Comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence.
  • Available to work a non-traditional schedule, which will include some evenings and weekends, and attend meetings and trainings on-site as required.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s candidate in communication, education, public health, social service, gender studies, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with online learning.
  • Experience developing online training content, including text and video.
  • Veterans will be given priority.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish.
  • Experience in crisis hotline/intervention, sexual violence prevention and response.
