Speakers Bureau Internship (Remote)

Do you have a passion for making sure survivors’ voices are heard? Are you interested in learning more about working with the media and changing the cultural narrative about sexual violence? Do you have a strong desire to be directly involved in survivors’ journeys towards healing and empowerment?

The RAINN Speakers Bureau is a national program that consists of 4,000 survivors of sexual violence who volunteer to share their stories for the purpose of raising awareness, increasing public education, initiating policy changes, and bringing hope to other survivors.

The Speakers Bureau Intern will work under the Communications Liaison within RAINN’s communications team to support the ongoing efforts of the RAINN Speakers Bureau. College students (or recent graduates) with a Communications, Media Studies, English, Psychology, or Social Work degree are encouraged to apply. This position will start on September 8, 2020.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Community group outreach
  • Media pitching
  • Event planning
  • Newsletter content creation
  • Direct correspondence with members
  • List cleaning and database maintenance

Required Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional writing and editing
  • Perceptive, empathetic; remarkable people skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information
  • Passion for RAINN’s mission
  • Capable of successfully completing a criminal background check administered by RAINN

This is an unpaid, part-time position with a requirement of 20 hours per week. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
