Military Communications Internship (Remote)

Safe Helpline is the Department of Defense's (DoD) sole hotline for members of the DoD community affected by sexual assault. Safe Helpline is a completely anonymous, confidential, 24/7, specialized service - providing help and information anytime, anywhere. DoD Safe Helpline is operated by RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization.

The Military Communications Intern will work with the Safe Helpline communications team under the Senior Safe Helpline Manager. Undergraduate students with a Communications, Public Relations, English major, or an interest in the issue of sexual violence are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Safe Helpline communications team in generating visibility and increasing usage of the DoD Safe Helpline.
  • Writing social media copy and analyzing social media effort.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of various marketing and outreach strategies.
  • Copy editing Safe Helpline digital and print materials.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

  • Must complete a criminal background check administered by RAINN

This is a remote, unpaid, part-time position and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week. RAINN employees will work with the student and university to ensure college credit is given for the internship.
