Human Resources Internship (Remote)

The Human Resources Intern will assist the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network's Human Resources & Administration department in its work supporting the various divisions at RAINN. The Human Resources Intern will be exposed to several facets of human resources and administration work in a national nonprofit environment. The Human Resources Intern will work directly with the HR & Administration Director and HR Assistant. This is an unpaid, remote position. The Human Resources Intern is a part time position, with the standard number of hours for approximately 20 hours per week. Our summer internship runs from June 1st to August 6th.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Leading informational lunch and learns and interviews with RAINN staff.
  • Creating and editing informational videos for RAINN staff.
  • Assisting with all aspects of the recruitment and selection process including interviewing, checking references, and anything else as assigned.
  • Facilitating virtual intern events and outreach.
  • Coordinating virtual wellness activities.
  • Data entry and database maintenance.
  • All other projects as assigned.

  • HR recruitment and retention processes; 
  • Labor law and regulatory impact on HR practices; 
  • Interdepartmental relationships in a nonprofit environment; 
  • Training implementation and monitoring; 
  • Auditing and records compliance.

Position Specific Requirements 

Desired Qualities: 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills; 
  • Strong writing and editing skills; 
  • Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality; 
  • Capability to successfully complete a criminal background check administered and paid for by RAINN.

Desired Education: 

  • At least one completed year at a U.S. based college or university; 
  • Human Resources, Business Administration, Sociology or Psychology major.
