Heather Drevna, Vice President

Heather Drevna (she/hers) is the vice president of communications at RAINN, where she leads a team of communications professionals in promoting RAINN’s mission and resources, educating the public, and working with media partners to raise the visibility of sexual violence.

Heather has more than 15 years of experience leading dynamic and strategic communications campaigns in the policy and government relations arenas.

Before joining RAINN, she served as Group Vice President of Communications at the American Hospital Association, where she led media relations, advocacy and member communications, digital strategy, marketing, and internal communications, in addition to long-range strategic communications projects. Prior to joining the AHA, she worked as a consultant helping hospitals develop leadership capacity in the frontline and middle management ranks and as a writer covering reproductive health and HIV policy.

Throughout her career, Heather has sought to improve community health and access to fair and equitable health care services. She joined RAINN with a passion to help ensure survivors are provided with trauma-informed, survivor-centered resoures and are aware of the services available to them after experiencing numerous incidents of sexual harrassment as a student and young professional and not knowing where to turn for support.

Heather received her dual undergraduate degree in History and German from the University of Notre Dame and a graduate degree in Political Management from the George Washington University.
