Protecting Young Athletes

In response to allegations of widespread sexual abuse in USA Gymnastics, USA Swimming, and USA Taekwondo, a bipartisan team of senators introduced legislation that requires U.S. amateur athletic organizations and their members to report sexual abuse. The bill also requires amateur athletic organizations to establish critical mechanisms for reporting abuse and to implement and enforce protective safety and oversight policies. Urge Congress to support S. 534, the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse Act of 2017, to ensure that young athletes can train and compete in the safe environments they deserve.
