April 25, 2007 – (Washington, DC) – RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization, today announced that Christina Ricci has joined the group as a national spokesperson. As part of the organization's efforts to commemorate National Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month, Ricci will meet with key legislators on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, April 25.

July 12, 2007 - In conjunction with her new film, Open Window, Cybill Shepherd has created a public service announcement featuring the National Sexual Assault Hotline. In the film, Shepherd’s character is the mother of a sexual assault victim, who struggles to help her daughter deal with the disturbing after effects of rape. The PSA will be aired with the film this month on Showtime.

July 16, 2007 —(Washington, DC) — RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization, issued the following statement today regarding the Nebraska rape case, in which the judge banned attorneys and witnesses from using words such as “rape,” “victim,” “assailant,” and “sexual-assault kit.”

October 15, 2007 —September 27th marked RAINN DAY 2007, RAINN’s nationwide college outreach program for students to raise awareness about sexual assault. Thanks to the support of Kaiser Permanente, RAINN was able to educate over one million students this year!

August 20, 2006 - On July 18, 2006, RAINN President and Founder Scott Berkowitz presided over the NASDAQ Closing Bell ceremony to commemorate helping one million people through the National Sexual Assault Hotline. He was joined by several rape crisis center representatives, RAINN staff members, sexual assault survivors and other supporters.

September 6, 2006 - This past summer, RAINN's National Sexual Assault Hotline reached a milestone — connecting one million callers to the support they need from local services. The hotline launched in 1994 and has grown to include over 1,100 affiliate crisis centers who provide crucial help to victims of sexual assault and their friends and family.

February 12, 2007 - RAINN released the following statement in response to an article that ran recently in the Central Connecticut State University newspaper. The article was a "satire" about rape and led to many protests on the campus and in the surrounding community.

February 12, 2007 —If a woman consents to having sex with a man but then during intercourse says no, and the man continues, is it rape? The answer depends on where you live. The highest courts of seven states, including Connecticut and Kansas, have ruled that a woman may withdraw her consent at any time, and if the man doesn't stop, he is committing rape.
