Cybill Shepherd Joins the Fight Against Sexual Assault!

July 12, 2007 - In conjunction with her new film, Open Window, Cybill Shepherd has created a public service announcement featuring the National Sexual Assault Hotline. In the film, Shepherd’s character is the mother of a sexual assault victim, who struggles to help her daughter deal with the disturbing after effects of rape. The PSA will be aired with the film this month on Showtime.

The highest courts of seven states, including Connecticut and Kansas, have ruled that a woman may withdraw her consent at any time, and if the man doesn't stop, he is committing rape.

President Signs Measure to Benefit RAINN's Affiliates and SA Victims

January 2006 —With RAINN's support, Congress recently passed, and President Bush signed, a new federal law that represents a huge step forward for sexual assault victims. RAINN played an active role in pushing for enactment of the 2005 Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP). Until SASP's enactment in December 2005, there was no federal funding stream solely dedicated to the victim services
