The following charts, summarizing statutes from all 50 states regarding domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence, are provided by the American Bar Association Commission on Domestic Violence.

    This table provides the legal definition of a domestic violence victim and domestic violence abuser, the qualifications for a Domestic Violence Civil Protection Order, and provisions of the order by state.

  3. Civil Protection Orders: Sexual Assault June 2007

    This table provides the legal definition of a sexual assault victim and sexual assault abuser, the qualifications for a Sexual Assault Protection Order, and provisions of the order according to each state.
  4. Civil Protection Orders: Stalking/Harrassment June 2007
    This table provides the legal definitions and qualifications of stalking and harrassment as well as available relief per state.
  5. Statute Allowing Fleeing Survivor Access to Protective Orders July 2007
    The following statutes permit fleeing victims of domestic violence to file for a protective order in one of many places, including where the plaintiff resides or is sheltered at the time of the filing, by state.
  6. Summary of DV/SA Advocate Confidentiality Laws January 2007
    This table confirms whether the domestic violence or sexual assault advocate has confidentiality privileges and provides the language of he statute by state.
