They'll donate a portion of your purchase to RAINN, and it won't cost you a cent. All it takes is one click at RAINN's shopping mall.

Here's another easy way to benefit RAINN every time you shop: Download our EZ Shopper for Firefox or Internet Explorer. It will automatically detect when you visit a participating retailer and make sure a portion gets donated to RAINN — you don't have to do a thing. Speaking Out Against Violence

Speaking Out Against Violence
Busboys and Poets helped break the silence this month when RAINN, the Baltimore Child Abuse Center and Women Empowered Against Violence co-sponsored One Common Unity's awareness-raising open-mic night. M.E. Hart, a RAINN Speaker's Bureau member, took part in the event, which was hosted by HawaH and Grammy-nominated Maimouna Youssef. "I am glad that I attended, and participated," said Hart. "Survivors and thrivers — men and women — and members of the community came together to share their stories. It was a little raw, very honest, sacred and above all healing."

"A good first step would be to contact RAINN, the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network. Its website is www.rainn.org and its toll-free phone number is 800-656-4673. The counselors there can guide you in finding help to repair your life."

"Everyone seemed very responsive because it's such a human problem. There are people we spoke to on Capitol Hill who had been touched by this issue. When you look at the statistics, you're hard pressed to not know someone."
—KaDee Strickland on her support for the SAFER Act

"Safe Helpline is owned by the Department of Defense and operated by RAINN, the non-profit Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, and is available to adult Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard... The Safe Helpline staff has been trained on the unique needs of those living and working in the DoD community and knows the resources available on and off military installations around the world."

Spotlight on the Speakers Bureau: Kristen Bakalar

"RAINN is clearly the most well-known organization when it comes to anti-sexual assault programs. Being involved with RAINN and part of the Speakers Bureau is one of the best avenues through which I can help educate and enlighten society on this terrible epidemic that plagues countless women throughout the US. It is my personal belief that the secrecy and shame attached to sexual assault stunts the awareness and education needed to enact change. This is why I talk as openly as I can about my experiences, formally and informally; the more we talk about it, the more aware we become, and the more aware we become, the more we can do change the reality of these daunting statistics."

"Volunteering on the Online Hotline reminds me to be grateful for all the good things I have in my life, and puts any petty nuisances into perspective. I am humbled on a daily basis by the courage of visitors to the Online Hotline, and my work on the OHL has inspired me to make bolder choices in my own life. Each "Thank You" I receive from a visitor is so energizing, and acknowledges the fact that we all take part in making the world a better and brighter place. "
