Position Description

RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network) voted One of “America’s 100 Best Charities” by Worth Magazine & "One of the Top 10 Best Charities in 2006" by Marie Claire Magazine has openings for interns to assist with the supervision of the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline at their Washington, D.C. office.

The National Sexual Assault Online Hotline is the first secure web-based hotline providing live and anonymous support through an interface as intuitive as instant messaging.

Duties:
  • Complete 40 hours of Crisis Intervention Training
  • Supervise and support volunteers on the Online Hotline
  • Provide technical assistance to volunteers
  • Be knowledgeable in the organization’s policies and protocols
  • Submit monthly supervision reports
  • Complete research relative to the Online Hotline
Qualifications:
  • Experience in advocacy or counseling
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field (Counseling, Social Work, Women’s Studies, Mental Health, Public Heath, Psychology, Sociology, etc…)
  • Experience supervising others
  • Able to work nights and/or weekends
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal & written
  • Computer proficiency to include instant messaging is a must.
