Position Description

RAINN is seeking communications interns to work with the Communications Manager under the Vice President of Communications. College students with a Communications, Public Relations, Psychology, or English major, or students with an interest in sexual assault or criminal justice are encouraged to apply.

RAINN maintains a Speakers Bureau made up for more than 600 survivors of incest and sexual assault across the country. The communications intern will assist with the Speakers Bureau, promotional efforts and media relations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Processing Speakers Bureau applications
  • Maintaining and updating Speakers Bureau database
  • Internet research
  • Writing and contacting Speakers Bureau Members to update contact information
  • Special events assistance
  • Media pitching
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Must be proficient in Excel
  • Must be articulate, with strong writing skills preferred
  • Strong organizational skills

This is an unpaid, part-time position.

Excellent opportunity for students interested in criminal justice, media and communications, and/or victim advocacy.

RAINN employees will work with the student and university to ensure college credit is given for the internship.

Flexible scheduling. Must be available a minimum of 2 days per week.
